As of Friday the 10th of August 2007 EVERYBODY is Legally free to use Linux. That's right, in a court ruling that puts to rest legal proceedings that started way back in 2003, Judge Kimball ruled that Novell (and not SCO) owns the copyrights to UNIX.
Novell themselves have been distributing Linux and related free software for years . What does this mean for the world? Simply put, it means the world can freely and liberally use Linux for whatever it wishes, be it business or pleasure on as many devices as it pleases with no fear of licensing or intellectual property issues.
What does this mean for you? It means you can confidently switch your businesses, homes, friends and family to Linux and Free Software with no copyright or Intellectual Property risk whatsoever . But then you've known this for quite some time and have been doing so nonstop since you heard of Linux, haven't you?
